Statin therapy and the risk of rhabdomyolysis in hypercholesterolemic populations

Hanifah Fazilatun NisaSyahrul Tuba

Statins remain the gold-standard pharmacologic therapy for hypercholesterolemia, but their use is occasionally limited by statin-associated muscle symptoms (SAMS), of which rhabdomyolysis is the most severe form (Dicken et al., 2022; Safitri et al., 2021). To systematically synthesize evidence published between 2010 and 2025 on the incidence, molecular mechanisms, genetic determinants, and preventive management of statin-induced rhabdomyolysis in hypercholesterolemic populations, and to identify what current evidence still leaves unresolved. A narrative literature review was conducted using Google Scholar and PubMed with the Boolean strategy ("statin*" OR "HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor*") AND ("rhabdomyolysis" OR "myopathy" OR "statin-associated muscle symptoms") AND "hypercholesterolemia". Screening followed a three-stage PRISMA-style process (identification, title/abstract screening, full-text eligibility), and included studies were appraised narratively for design, sample size, and completeness of reported outcomes, prioritizing peer-reviewed sources indexed in Scopus or Sinta and published in 2021-2025, while retaining seminal 2010-2018 randomized trials as primary sources of the quantitative incidence data. Six primary clinical studies (n = 24 to 584,784) reported rhabdomyolysis incidences ranging from 0.003% with statin monotherapy to 4.17% under high-dose oncology co-administration; risk rose sharply with fibrate co-therapy (particularly gemfibrozil), high-dose or lipophilic statins, and loss-of-function SLCO1B1 variants (Turongkaravee et al., 2021). Rhabdomyolysis attributable to statin monotherapy is rare (generally <0.1%), but risk increases materially with high-dose or lipophilic statins, fibrate co-administration, strenuous physical exertion, and genetic predisposition. Individualized risk assessment-incorporating dose selection, drug-interaction screening, and, where available, SLCO1B1 genotyping-together with creatine kinase monitoring can help preserve the cardiovascular benefit of statins while minimizing myotoxic risk.

When interactive performance measurement systems matter: innovativeness, technological turbulence, and relative firm performance

Rr. Dian AnggraeniTubagus IsmailTri LestariElvin Bastian

Interactive performance measurement systems may be associated with firm performance by encouraging organizational responses to performance information, while technological turbulence may increase the relevance of such interactive use. Drawing on contingency theory and Organizational Information Processing Theory, this study examines whether organizational innovativeness mediates the association between interactive use of performance measurement systems (IPMS) and relative firm performance and whether technological turbulence conditions that indirect association. A cross-sectional, firm-level survey of 102 screened medium-sized manufacturing establishments in Greater Tangerang, Indonesia, was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The multi-item measures showed satisfactory reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.792-0.905) and convergent and discriminant validity. Sensitivity analysis indicated that, at alpha = 0.05 and power = 0.80, N = 102 could detect an incremental f² of approximately 0.078; the observed interaction f² was 0.109. IPMS was positively associated with organizational innovativeness (β = 0.476, p < .001), which was positively associated with relative firm performance (β = 0.456, p < .001). The indirect effect was significant (β = 0.217, 95% CI [0.122, 0.329]). Technological turbulence moderated the IPMS-to-innovativeness association (β = 0.246, p < .001), and the index of moderated mediation excluded zero (index = 0.112, 95% CI [0.048, 0.182]). Within this cross-sectional sample, the estimated innovation-mediated association was stronger at higher levels of technological turbulence; the findings identify a context-dependent association rather than establishing a universal or causal effect of interactive control.

Isometric virtual laboratory design and validation: a multimedia learning approach to android-based UTP cabling instruction

Deni SartikaRizky Ema WulansariYeka HendriyaniElfi Tasrif

Indonesian vocational high school (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, SMK) students must master unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling, yet pin order, cable types, and connector logic are difficult to visualize, practice time is short, and equipment is often scarce. Grounded in the cognitive theory of multimedia learning and cognitive load theory, this study designed an Android-based virtual laboratory that uses isometric (pseudo-3D) visualization to make the cabling workbench visible on ordinary smartphones. The study addresses a gap in mobile and simulation-based vocational learning research, which has focused on logical network configuration in higher education and has rarely addressed physical cabling at the secondary level. It examined the product's validity, practicality, and preliminary effectiveness as a supplementary medium for UTP cabling concepts. Development followed the 4-D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Three media and three material experts evaluated the prototype using Aiken's V, and three practitioners and 16 Grade 10 Software and Game Development (PPLG) students rated its practicality. Effectiveness was examined in a pilot study using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design over eight sessions with a 24-item conceptual test (KR-20 = 0.94). The sample was the entire Grade 10 PPLG class (total sampling); an a priori power analysis showed that 15 participants were needed to detect a large paired effect (dz = 0.80, α = .05, power = .80). Media and material validity were 0.84 and 0.91. Practicality averaged 88.00% (practitioners) and 85.25% (students). Mean scores rose from 62.50 (SD = 12.73) to 85.68 (SD = 8.47), t(15) = 8.14, p < .001, dz = 2.04, ⟨g⟩ = 0.62, and 93.75% of students reached the mastery level. Because no control group was used, this gain indicates an association with the intervention rather than a causal effect, and it may also reflect regular instruction, testing, and maturation. The isometric virtual laboratory is a valid and practical supplementary medium for resource-limited workshops, and controlled studies are needed to establish its effectiveness.

Structured prompt engineering as scaffolding in generative ai-supported project-based network programming learning: a systematic literature review and conceptual framework

Muhammad Rizki AnandaTiti Sri WahyuniFahmi RizalResmi Darni

This systematized literature review examines how prompt engineering in generative AI (GenAI) has been used to support Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and develops a conceptual framework for Network Programming courses. Following the PRISMA 2020 statement, records published from 2020 to 2026 were retrieved from IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Google Scholar, and Garuda/Sinta. Of 310 records identified, 242 remained after duplicate removal, 56 were assessed in full text, and 24 studies met the eligibility criteria. Screening decisions were cross-checked by a second reviewer (Cohen's κ = [....]), and study quality was appraised with the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Data were analyzed through a hybrid deductive–inductive thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke's six phases: the four research questions served as a priori categories, sub-themes were coded inductively until no new codes emerged, and coding disagreements were resolved by consensus. The results revealed that structured and scaffolded prompting is consistently associated with deeper engagement than unstructured prompting in programming classes, and that GenAI-supported PjBL preserves student autonomy and creativity when AI interaction is embedded in project stages and students must justify their technical decisions. Only one included study addressed computer networking directly. Reported challenges were excessive dependence on AI-produced solutions, shallow learning, and unclear assessment practices. Unlike existing PjBL–GenAI models, which treat AI as a generally available tool, the proposed three-layer framework (competency, scaffolding, and assessment) specifies when and how prompting is taught, constrained, and evaluated across network programming project milestones, and it yields testable propositions for future empirical research.

Tersendatnya kebijakan food estate: evaluasi logic model atas kesenjangan implementasi berjenjang

Afif Syarifudin YahyaAfni NoorainiLisya Aiza TurrukhanaEko Dharma Putra

Indonesia's food estate programme has been studied mainly from legal, political-ecological and agronomic perspectives, leaving unexplained where along the policy's causal chain public investment fails to become food security. This study evaluates the food estate policy in Central Kalimantan Province and identifies the points and mechanisms at which the input–activity–output–outcome chain breaks down. A theory-driven qualitative evaluation with a post-positivist stance was applied, using the logic model as the analytical frame. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with purposively selected key informants (provincial and district officials, sub-district heads, extension workers, field supervisors and farmers in Kapuas Regency), field observation and document analysis, and were analysed through open, axial and selective coding with source and method triangulation. The findings reveal a cascading implementation gap. Despite a 2025 budget of IDR 5.1 trillion, only 43 of 156 (27.6%) agricultural machinery units delivered to the province were operational; each extension worker served at least eight farmer groups, twice the ideal ratio; average rice productivity (2–3.5 t/ha) remained below the provincial (3.8 t/ha) and national (5.2 t/ha) averages; the cassava component produced almost nothing; and farm-gate prices exceeded the government purchase price by only 3.9%, a margin eroded by rising production costs. Theoretically, the study introduces the concept of a cascading implementation gap and extends logic-model evaluation into a diagnostic tool by explaining, through implementation and high-modernism theories, why top-down inputs fail to translate into outcomes on fragile peatlands. Practically, it calls for land-suitability-based, participatory and phased intensification instead of massive extensification.

Self-service technology evaluation for passenger flow management: a mixed-methods CIPP study

Herlina FebiyantiZusnita HermalaIwansyah Putra

This study evaluated the implementation of self-check-in facilities for passenger flow management at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport, Palembang. An applied evaluative approach using a mixed-method sequential explanatory design and the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model was employed. The quantitative phase involved 50 self-check-in and 50 conventional check-in observations and a questionnaire administered to 50 passengers selected using purposive sampling. Qualitative data were collected through interviews, observation, and document review involving seven informants. The independent-samples t-test showed a significant difference in check-in time (p < 0.001), with mean times of 6.46 and 15.90 minutes for self-check-in and conventional check-in, respectively, a mean difference of 9.44 minutes (95% CI: −10.30 to −8.58; Cohen’s d = 4.37). The CIPP evaluation yielded an overall score of 87%, categorized as very good. However, qualitative findings identified system and network disruptions, machine failures, boarding-pass printing problems, booking-code discrepancies, and conveyor disturbances. The 2.59% utilization rate in 2025 indicates limited adoption despite positive user evaluations. The study contributes an integrated evaluation approach combining CIPP implementation assessment with objective processing-time comparison without making causal claims beyond the single-site observational design.
