Terms of Service

CITEVRA TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Citevra website and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using Citevra, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

1. ABOUT THE SERVICE

Citevra is a scholarly discovery and indexing platform. The Service provides searchable and browsable metadata about academic articles, journals, issues, authors, keywords, abstracts, DOIs, references, and available full-text links. Citevra may link to content hosted by publishers, journals, repositories, or other third parties.

Citevra does not replace the official website, editorial record, or terms of use of a journal, publisher, repository, or rights holder. The source website and its policies control access to third-party content.

2. ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use Citevra for lawful research, education, reference, discovery, and other legitimate informational purposes.

You must not:

- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, administrative systems, databases, or accounts.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation, security, availability, or performance of the Service.
- Use automated requests, scraping, crawling, or data extraction in a manner that violates applicable law, source-provider policies, or reasonable technical limits.
- Misrepresent Citevra metadata, authorship, publication status, or ownership.
- Remove or alter attribution, copyright notices, DOI information, or other rights information.
- Use Citevra to distribute malware, spam, unauthorized advertising, or unlawful material.

3. SCHOLARLY CONTENT AND LINKS

Article metadata and content may be supplied by administrators, data imports, journals, publishers, authors, or other sources. Citevra does not guarantee that every record is complete, current, error-free, peer-reviewed, or continuously available.

The presence of a record or link on Citevra does not constitute endorsement of an article, author, journal, publisher, institution, or research conclusion. Users should verify bibliographic details and evaluate research according to appropriate academic standards.

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Citevra name, branding, website design, software, and original platform content are owned by or licensed to Citevra unless stated otherwise. Article text, PDFs, images, logos, trademarks, metadata supplied by third parties, and other external materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.

You must obtain permission from the relevant rights holder before reproducing, redistributing, selling, or modifying protected content. A citation or link to Citevra does not grant a license to use third-party material.

5. USER AND ADMINISTRATOR CONTENT

If you submit, import, edit, or otherwise provide content or metadata to Citevra, you represent that you have the right and authority to do so. You must not knowingly provide false, misleading, infringing, confidential, or malicious material.

You grant Citevra permission to store, process, display, format, index, and make available the submitted content as necessary to operate and improve the Service. This permission does not transfer your ownership of content that you lawfully own.

6. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES

Citevra may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue all or part of the Service, including individual records, links, features, or pages, without prior notice when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or operational reasons.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when published on this website. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

7. DISCLAIMERS

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. Citevra makes no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, complete, accurate, current, or free from errors, harmful code, or unavailable links.

Citevra is not responsible for decisions made from scholarly content, citation metadata, search results, external websites, or downloaded files. Users are responsible for verifying information before relying on it for academic, professional, legal, medical, financial, or other significant purposes.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Citevra and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses arising from or related to use of, or inability to use, the Service or third-party content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. TERMINATION

Citevra may suspend or terminate access where a user violates these Terms, creates a security or legal risk, abuses the Service, or where termination is otherwise reasonably necessary. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, limitation, and dispute provisions, will continue to apply.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms will be interpreted under the laws applicable to the operator of Citevra, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise. Any dispute should first be raised with Citevra so the parties can attempt to resolve it in good faith.

11. CONTACT

Questions about these Terms should be sent through the Contact page on the website or to [email protected].
