This Privacy Policy explains how Citevra handles information when you visit or use the Citevra website and related services (the "Service"). We aim to collect and use information only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the scholarly discovery platform.
1. INFORMATION WE MAY HANDLE
Depending on how you use the Service, Citevra may handle the following categories of information:

Citevra does not need an account for ordinary public browsing and scholarly searching. Please do not submit passwords, private research data, sensitive personal information, or confidential documents through public forms or content fields unless the Service specifically requests and protects them.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We may use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Citevra.
- Display and organize scholarly articles, journals, issues, static pages, and related metadata.
- Process administrator authentication, authorization, imports, edits, uploads, and page management.

3. PUBLIC SCHOLARLY METADATA
Information intentionally entered or imported for publication may become publicly visible. This can include article titles, abstracts, author names, affiliations, keywords, journal information, publication dates, pages, DOI values, references, links, and citation metadata.
Before publishing information, administrators and data providers should confirm that they have the right to make it public and that it does not contain unnecessary personal, confidential, or restricted information. Published scholarly metadata may be indexed by search engines, academic search services, and other third parties.
4. COOKIES AND SESSIONS
Citevra may use essential cookies or server-side sessions for login, security, navigation, and application functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working correctly.
5. SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
Citevra may share information only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, such as with hosting providers, database providers, email providers, security services, technical contractors, or legal authorities when required by law or necessary to protect the Service.
Citevra does not sell personal information. Public scholarly metadata is intentionally displayed as part of the Service and may be copied, indexed, or linked by third parties according to their own policies and applicable law.
6. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND FILES
Citevra may link to publisher websites, journal websites, institutional repositories, DOI services, or downloadable files hosted elsewhere. Those websites and files are controlled by third parties and have their own privacy policies, terms, cookies, and security practices. Review those policies before providing information or downloading content.
7. DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain scholarly records, operate administrator features, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect the Service. Retention periods may vary by data type and operational need.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the Service. However, no internet transmission, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. YOUR RIGHTS AND REQUESTS
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or information about personal data associated with you. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Requests concerning public author information, article metadata, copyright, privacy, or correction should include the relevant page or article URL and enough detail for Citevra to evaluate the request. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting on a request.
9. CHILDREN
Citevra is a scholarly research service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review the situation.
10. INTERNATIONAL ACCESS
Citevra may be accessed from countries other than the country where its operators or service providers are located. By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed in locations where different data-protection rules apply, subject to applicable legal requirements.
